Applying to the Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy WritERS’ Workshop
Applications are currently handled through the UCSD portal. To learn more and apply, click here.
Clarion participants are selected from applicants who have the potential for highly successful writing careers. Some have already been published. Though most come from the United States, students from countries worldwide frequently participate. Clarion students range in age from late teens to those in mid-career, and represent a wide variety of academic and working backgrounds.
Each year, the Clarion Foundation receives well over a hundred applicants to the six-week intensive summer workshop. After an extensive review process, 18 applicants are selected along with a small waitlist. Our acceptance rate varies but is typically around 10%. Many Clarion attendees get in after applying multiple times.
